Donation Day
In partnership with Bouygues UK and local volunteers — turning donations into opportunities for connection.
How it started
Donation Day began when Zoe moved from Acton to Ladbroke Grove and built a connection with Bouygues UK. Together with other local volunteers and community members, she organised the first clothing swap events at The Venture Centre and Portobello Hall. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a meaningful community resource. With every event, more people donated clothing, more families took part, and more neighbours discovered the benefits of reuse, affordability and shared support.
Our Partners
Donation Day wouldn’t be possible without the support of Bouygues UK, who have collaborated with Zoe and our members from the very first event. Their involvement has helped us secure venues, coordinate logistics and publicise each clothing swap, ensuring the events reach as many local families as possible.
We’re grateful to work alongside partners who share our commitment to community connection, sustainability and practical action.

Future plans: Swap & Stitch
Some of our regular Donation Day volunteers are skilled tailors and seamstresses — and they’ve offered to teach simple mending and alteration skills to others.
Our ambition is to develop “Swap & Stitch” sessions where people can donate, choose items, and also learn how to repair, adjust or upcycle clothing.
It’s an idea Zoe is passionate about, and something that would help families make the most of what they already have.
Get involved
